In a horrific incident, two women were shot and injured at the Guaranteed Rate Field Stadium in Chicago during a White Sox vs. Oakland Athletics baseball game. A 42-year-old woman had a gunshot wound to the leg, and a 26-year-old woman had a graze wound to her abdomen.

The 42-year-old female was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she is in stable condition, while the 26-year-old woman refused medical attention. The Chicago police are investigating the incident and have released a statement regarding it. The White Sox are also looking into it and have not yet determined if the shots came from outside or inside the stadium.
T he police said that the information is still preliminary as the investigation is still in process. " Upon receiving notification of this incident, CPD responded immediately and deployed additional resources while coordinating with White Sox security to maintain the safety of those who were in attendance or working at the game," the police said in their statement. "At no time was it believed there was an active threat."
The MLB side also released a statement in support of the victims and confirmed that the organization was in no way involved with the incident. Major League Baseball did not provide any details but said it was in contact with the White Sox and Chicago police.
"While the police continue to investigate, White Sox security confirms that this incident did not involve an altercation of any kind. The White Sox are thinking of the victims at this time and wishing them a speedy recovery,” the team said in a statement.
The game continued despite the shooting and ended with a 12-4 loss for the White Sox. A postgame concert featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, and Tone Loc was cancelled due to "technical issues", according to a billboard inside the stadium.
