With 13 runs needed of six balls, Shabnim Ismail smashed a straight drive. During this process, umpire Kim Cotton, who was placed at the non-striker’s end nearly missed a major mishap. As the Sri Lankan bowler bowled a full outside off, Ismail sliced the drive which she hit with full power for a boundary.

As the ball crossed the umpire, resulting her to step back which led to Cotton falling on the ground. However, in the very next over Ismail fell off to a brilliant run out after scoring seven off four balls.

Talking about the match, the hosts won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first. The Lankans posted 129 in their 20 overs on the back of skipper Chamari Athapaththu’s 50-ball 68. But the Lankan bowlers restricted the hosts to a score of 126/9 with Inoka Ranaweera taking three wickets and Sugandika Kumara and Oshadi Ranasinghe scalping two each.
