A hilarious brain fade moment took place for KL Rahul after India’s win in the final of the Champions Trophy against New Zealand in Dubai. As the Indian players were donning the iconic white jackets in the post-match presentation ceremony before collecting the trophy, Rahul, who finished the game for India along with Ravindra Jadeja forgot to remove his batting pads after the match.
Not only this, KL Rahul went to receive the white-jackets with batting pads on. Looking at Rahul, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant couldn’t control their laughters and shared a moment of joy. The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared the video of the instance on their social media with a caption, “KL Rahul really is fully padded for every occasion for India.”
KL Rahul set to miss first few matches of IPL due to birth of his first child
Notably, KL Rahul has arrived in India after the Champions Trophy win with only a few days left for the IPL 2025. However, the wicketkeeper is likely to miss the first two games of the season for Delhi Capitals due to the possible birth of his first child. In November 2024, KLRahul and his wife Athiya Shetty announced that they are expecting their first child in the initial months of 2025. Now, the couple is expected to get a delivery of their first child soon.
KL Rahul is set to play for a new franchise in IPL 2025 after Delhi Capitals acquired him for ₹14 crores in a mega auction last year. He was previously leading Lucknow Super Giants before the franchise released him after IPL 2024. He is also among the top contenders to lead this DC this year. However, there are also reports coming that Rahul has denied DC’s captaincy.
