Former Team India player Yograj Singh has revealed when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should announce their retirement from ODI cricket. After India’s sensational Champions Trophy 2025 title win, Rohit said he isn’t going to retire from ODI cricket and also put rest to all retirement rumours related to him. Virat Kohli also didn’t announce anything related to him hanging up his boots from the format. Following the positive development, Team India supporters looked content and expressed their wish to see both players serving the national side until the  next ODI World Cup that is scheduled to be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia in 2027.

Discussing the retirement of both India legends, Yograj gave a suggestion as to when veterans should call time on their international careers. Speaking to ANI, he said no one can tell the star players when to retire. He also added that both shouldn’t think about retiring from the game until winning the coveted trophy for India in the 2027 ODI World Cup “The best thing is that Rohit Sharma said he is not retiring. Well done, my son. Nobody can retire Rohit and Virat. They should think about retirement after winning the 2027 ODI World Cup. I have said this before India would win,“ said Yograj
