India legend Virat Kohli has rejoined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Three days back, the star player announced his retirement from Test cricket after serving his national side for 14 years in cricket’s oldest format. After his retirement from red-ball cricket, Virat’s fans will now get to see him only in One-Day Internationals (ODI) only. Following the 36-year-old’s massive step, his supporters will expect him to appear for India in the Cricket World Cup 2027 scheduled to be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
In a video going viral on social media, Kohli can be seen in RCB’s practice jersey and entering the hotel where the team is residing. IPL 2025 was suspended for a week on May 9, due to military conflict between India and Pakistan. On May 17, the tournament will be resumed with the contest between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB will strive to dominate KKR for the second time in the competition
RCB will look to play quality cricket against the reigning champions KKR in the upcoming game. Both teams played against each other in the opening match of the league on March 22. Bengaluru won that game convincingly by seven wickets. Rajat Patidar’s team will look to be at their best in the upcoming match to solidify their chances of advancing to the playoffs.
RCB are currently holding the second spot on the points table with eight wins and three losses in 11 matches. Another win will almost seal their chances for the next round as their net run rate has been exemplary this season. Talking about KKR, they need to win both of their matches to keep their playoffs hopes alive.
