Melbourne Renegades skipper Will Sutherland showed an brilliant example of athleticism on the field after he jumped high to take a catch to dismiss Sydney Thunder’s Sam Billing in match number 16 of the 2024-25 Big Bash League at Sydney Showground Stadium. In a close match, Sydney Thunder defeated Melbourne Renegades for eight runs to register their third win of the season and get into the second spot at the points table.

David Warner leads with 89* as Sydney Thunder register 3rd win in BBL 2024-25
After failing to score big in the last three matches, Sydney Thunder skipper David Warner finally got his form back in a match against Melbourne Renegades. Batting first, Warner led from the front with a captain’s knock of 89*(57) hitting 10 fours and two sixes as Thunders posted 156/4 while batting first. For Melbourne Renegades, Will Sutherland, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa and Tom Rogers scalped a wicket each.
Coming to chase the winning total, Melbourne Renegades got a decent start as Josh Brown (22 off 18) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (26 off 27) added 34 runs for the first wicket in 4.2 overs. After that the Renegades kept losing wicket at regular intervals.
