The wife of former India and current Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sakshi Dhoni, recently opened up on the challenges faced by a cricketer's wife, in a cricket crazy nation like India. She talked about how their 'private space' is taken away, and the fact that they always have to be in front of the cameras.
"I feel proud of all the players as they've been chosen out of billions of people, and they play the game that people loves. Especially in India," Sakshi Dhoni said in a video shared by CSK on the occasion of International Women's Day, which featured wives of Men in Yellow having a candid discussion.
"General life of a girl changes when she gets married. And our husbands go to play sports. So I think you have to adapt and change according to how they expect you to be and restrict yourself from stressing our husband," Sakshi added.

Sakshi Dhoni then talked about how people tend to judge them publicly, especially as a cricketer's wife. The 33-year-old also remarked on how her life requires to face cameras most times. She also discussed how different people have different comfort levels in front of a camera.
"You don't have your private space, and you cannot be like how you are basically in front of cameras right now. Some people are comfortable in front of the camera; others are not. And especially with the public, especially when you are a cricketer's wife. Even when you are doing something like hanging out with friends, and they do talk," Sakshi said.
