After clinching the T20I series, Team India is set to take on Sri Lanka in 3-match ODI series, starting from Tuesday (January 10). The ODI series will mark the return of senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul. While fans are excited to see star cricketers back in action, one young fan got emotional after meeting Rohit Sharma at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
After addressing the media ahead of the 1st ODI, Rohit went outside to meet and greet some of his fans. Upon seeing Rohit Sharma, a young fan was almost in tears. The Indian skipper consoled the kid and said, “Rone ka kya baat hai, chota bacha hai tu,” (Why are you crying, you are just a small kid) Rohit can be heard saying to the fan. "Itna mota mota gaal kar diya (You have made your cheeks fat)", Rohit said while pulling kid's cheeks.

Shubman Gill to open with Rohit Sharma in 1st ODI
While cricket fans were confident about Ishan Kishan's inclusion in the Playing XI for the 1st ODI after his terrific performance against Bangladesh, the Indian skipper revealed that Shubman Gill will be his opening partner in the three-match series.
“Both openers (Gill and Kishan) have done really well. But looking at how both have gone through, I think it is fair that we give Gill a chance to have a fair run because in the last games, Gill got a lot of runs as well. I am not going to take anything from Ishan. He has been wonderful for us. He got a double hundred and I know what it takes to get a double hundred, it is a great achievement. But just to be honest and be fair to the guys, who have done really well before that we need to give those guys enough chances as well,” Rohit said.
