This ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League was n't the season for Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul as he was ruled out mid-season after sustaining an injury, although his team under the captaincy of Krunal Pandya entered the Playoffs for the second consecutive year. He suffered a thigh injury during LSG’s home game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1, further ruling him out of the tournament.

The star player is currently undergoing rehabilitation, he was back into the news for some off-the-field action. In a video going viral, a four-year-old fan was seen naming the ten captains of the IPL franchises on a TV screen. But when he was asked to pick his favourite, he took a moment but then pointed out and named KL Rahul as the one.

The Indian wicketkeeper-batter in no time reacted to this young kid's gesture and offered to give him a signed jersey. “That’s so sweet. (red heart emoji) Drop me a DM with your address. I’d be delighted to give him my signed jersey,” KL replied.

The 31-year-old after his injury had ruled him out of the upcoming World Test Championship Final 2021-23, writing, “Absolutely gutted that I won’t be at the Oval next month with Team India. I’ll do everything I can get back in blue and help my country.” Two weeks ago, the Indian batter shared a post after undergoing successful surgery. He also expressed gratitude towards the medical team, asserting to be back on the field soon.

“I am officially on the road to recovery now. I’m determined to get back to my best and get back on the field. Onwards and upwards”, he wrote.
