The Indian leg spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, has revealed his Purple Cap winner for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 , to the Esports streamer Gulrez Khan. The 33-year-old stated that he will win the Purple Cap for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024, just two years after pulling off the milestone for the first time ever.

During his first season with the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 27 wickets to take the Jaipur-based franchise to the final in 2022, claiming the Purple Cap in the process. This was only the second time a bowler from Rajasthan Royals took home the Purple Cap, the first time winner being Sohail Tanvir of Pakistan, who was instrumental for the franchise in securing the inaugural IPL title in 2008.

When the Esports streamer Gulrez Khan, in a video on his YouTube channel named JokerKiHaveli, asked Yuzvendra Chahal, about who will take the most wickets in the upcoming IPL 2024 season, apart from him, the Indian cricketer was adamant about picking up most wickets in the tournament. It led to Gulrez Khan asking him about the second highest wicket taker in the IPL, to which Yuzvendra Chahal said the name of Rashid Khan.

Earlier in the same YouTube video, Gulrez Khan questioned Yuzvendra Chahal about his Orange Cap pick for the IPL 2024. In response, he chose either Yashasvi Jaiswal or Jos Buttler, his teammates and openers of the Rajasthan Royals, to score the most runs in the upcoming season of the franchise T20 tournament.

Jos Buttler is also the former winner of the Orange Cap from the IPL 2022 season for Rajasthan Royals, which was coincidentally the same year when Yuzvendra Chahal got the Purple Cap.
