Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian spin bowler, joined a famous podcast show called Figuring Out With Raj Shamani recently, where he talked candidly about his career and life journey, including the ups and downs. During the podcast show, when Raj Shamani asked Yuzvendra Chahal about whether he saw Virat Kohli cry while competing for the Indian cricket team, to which he responded in a yes, apart from stating how many of his teammates did the same after losing the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-final to New Zealand.
It was at Old Trafford in Manchester during July 2019 when India suffered a heart-breaking loss by 18 runs on a reserve day, which not only ended their Cricket World Cup campaign, but also became the last international match of former Indian captain MS Dhoni. After the Indian bowlers managed to restrict them to 239-run total, the New Zealand bowlers were exceptional with the ball, especially early in the opposition innings, not allowing them to recover at all in the pursuit of the target.

When Yuzvendra Chahal was answering the question surrounding the difference of captaincy in regards to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Raj Shamani asked him whether he saw the latter cry. He was quoted as saying, as per News18, “I love how Rohit bhaiya carries himself on the ground. He’s a very good captain. With Virat bhaiya, it’s the energy he brings, the same energy every day. It will only go up and never down. Same energy. Every day.”

In response to the question, Yuzvendra Chahal said, “2019 World Cup, I saw him crying in the bathroom. And then I was the last batter, when I was crossing him, he had tears in his eyes. In 2019, I saw everyone crying in the bathroom.”
In the semi-final clash, Virat Kohli lost his wicket early, while Yuzvendra Chahal wasn’t at his best either, conceding more than 60 runs in his 10-over spell.
