After leading West Indies to a famous win by 120 runs during the second Test of the two-match series against Pakistan, captain Kraigg Brathwaite stated that his team can win in any condition. On a pitch assisting the spinners at the Multan Cricket Stadium, West Indies outclassed Pakistan in all departments of the game, to register a Test win in the Asian country for the first-time in nearly 35 years, which was also enough to draw the series 1-1.

Notably, after West Indies took a first innings lead of nine runs despite being down at 38/7 in their first innings, they batted expertly well on spin-friendly pitch in Multan in the second innings. Thanks to a solid fifty from Kraigg Brathwaite, and a lot of small but meaningful contributions from the rest of the batters, West Indies reached a very good score of 244 runs in their second innings, setting up a daunting target of 254 runs for Pakistan to take the series.

It just shows that we can get it done in any conditions once we believe: Kraigg Brathwaite

In the run chase, Pakistan were no match to the skill of West Indies left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican in helpful conditions, who picked up a five-wicket haul in the second innings and nine for the contest. During the post-match chat, Kraigg Brathwaite hailed his team’s performance and said as per Cricbuzz, “Yeah, it's a very important win for us. It just shows that we can get it done in any conditions once we believe and always have a plan. It's right up there with some amazing Test wins because coming here, you know, playing here in Pakistan, it's never easy to win a Test match.”

Kraigg Brathwaite also spoke about how they were able to pull off an unlikely Test win in Pakistan, their first in the country in the 21st century. He remarked, “I mean, as a batsman, as I said, everyone's going to have their plans. Be brave in whatever you want to do as a batsman and bowling-wise, bring forward the batsmen as much as possible and there will be 20 balls that you will get 20 wickets because, as I said, the pitch is a difficult pitch, so there's no second guessing. You're going to get out on this pitch regardless of what you do.”
