Fans expressed their disappointment on social media as India lost their promising batter and cricketing icon, Virat Kohli, on a duck against England. The Men in Blue took on reigning champions England in their sixth clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on October 29, Sunday. England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and invited the 2023 hosts to put score on the board first.

The visitors took an early command of the match as they forced two reliable batters on the opposite side to leave early. The 2019 winners sent Shubman Gill in the fourth over before the two-time champions lost Virat Kohli’s wicket soon in the seventh over. The former India skipper, who came to bat on third walked back to the pavilion on a duck. David Willey dismissed Kohli on the last ball of fifth ball of the sixth over, after the ball was caught out by Ben Stokes.
