The members of the Indian contingent for the Aisa Cup 2023 have proved their fitness at the NCA, except for KL Rahul who is nursing a niggle. Apart from this, the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh also announced the birth of his second child ‘Aura’ with wife Hazel Keech. The day also saw PCB name a second string squad for the Asian Games, set to take place in September-October in China.

BCCI announces IDFC First as new title sponsor for international and domestic home matches

The BCCI had issued an  Invitation to Tender Title Sponsor Rights For BCCI Events (ITT). Pursuant to the tender process, the BCCI is pleased to announce that IDFC First Bank Limited was the successful bidder with respect to the ITT process (subject to definitive documentation and other formalities being completed).

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday, August 24 named a 15-member squad for the upcoming Asian Games 2023. The Pakistan board has named a second-string squad and has taken a bold decision as they have named Qasim Akram as the skipper of the side.

 

Tilak Varma shouldn’t debut in such a big tournament like Asia Cup: K Srikkanth

Former India opener  Krishnamachari Srikkanth  expressed his concerns over the selection of Tilak Varma in the  Asia Cup 2023 squad . Tilak made his debut in the T20I series against West Indies, and soon after that, he was picked in the 17-member squad for the Asia Cup, announced by the BCCI. However, Kris Srikkanth, who is known for his blunt and honest remarks said that Varma shouldn’t be given a call in such a big tournament. 

 

Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya pass yo-yo test, KL Rahul to prove fitness

According to reports, all the players who took the test on Thursday at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru cleared it successfully. The BCCI has set a minimum score of 16.5 for the players to be eligible for selection.   KL Rahul is unlikely to give the test since he is recovering from a i njury, and the cricketers who were a part of the Ireland series are also unlikely to take the yo-yo test. 

 

BCCI issues verbal warning to Indian cricketers after Virat Kohli posts yo-yo test score: Reports

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly issued a verbal warning to Indian cricketers after the former India skipper  Virat Kohli posted his Yo-Yo score on Instagram story . As per the report by the Indian Express, the cricket governing body wasn’t pleased by this. The officials reminded players that they cannot reveal such confidential information on public platforms, and such actions in future can lead to ‘breach of contract.’

 

Jaisi aapki aagya: Prithvi Shaw gives a savage reply to a troll

Recently, prithvi shaw  shared a picture on his Instagram, where a user took a jibe at his physical appearance, advising the Indian opener to work on his fitness like Virat Kohli.  Shaw gave a fitting reply to the troll, which in no time has gone viral.

It surpassed Virat Kohli’s tweet that he posted after his explosive inning of 82* runs in the 2022 T20I World Cup against Pakistan.
