In the first T20I match, India defeated Australia by 2 wickets with the help of a brilliant 80-run knock from skipper Suryakumar Yadav, and alongside him, Ishan Kishan also scored a fifty (58) as these two were involved in a 112-run partnership. Rinku Singh played a beautiful role as finisher by smashing 22 runs off 14 balls in the end.

Here, in this article we will see what the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav spoke in post match presentation after their win against Australia in 1st T20I game.

Suryakumar Yadav (Winning Captain): I was very happy with the way our boys played today as they showed up with their energy when we  were put under pressure. Captaining India is a very proud moment for me today, as every time I play cricket I would think about representing my nation hence playing as captain is a very big moment for me. This isn't a big ground so I knew batting will get easy but there wasn't any dew as expected in the second innings.

Our bowlers really did well to restrict them in the end as I thought at one stage they will reach 230-235 runs. I told Ishan Kishan to just enjoy himself as enjoying and expressing ourselves is the key to success in T20 cricket. We've been in such situations many times in franchise cricket, hence we all know what is going to happen. I always try to enjoy my batting, hence I left the luggage of captaincy in the dressing room itself during the second innings.

It was great to see our team-mates hold their nerve in crunch situations and especially for Rinku Singh it was a tailor-made situation for him. Rinku Singh was very calm and collected in a pressure situation and he also calmed me down a little bit. Absolutely it was incredible to see the bowlers restrict Aussies to just 208/3 after the 16th over.
