India is all set to lock horns with Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting tomorrow (December 14). While the first Test will be played in Chattogram from 14-18 December, the second and final will be played in Mirpur between 22 to 26 December  2022.

The Men in Blue have been already handed a blow ahead of the start of the Test series. Skipper Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the 1 st  Test after he suffered a horrific thumb injury in 2 nd  ODI earlier this month. Abhimanyu Easwaran has been called in as his replacement with KL Rahul taking the charge as the captain.

With the World Test Championship Final nearing, all the teams have their eyes set on the trophy. However, the Men in Blue lost the inaugural WTC Final against New Zealand, it has to be seen how they can  qualify for their second straight final, scheduled to take place in 2023.

India is currently ranked fourth in the World Test Championship points table. The Men in Blue have 75 points with 52.08 per cent. The Rohit Sharma-led Team India have won six matches, lost four, while two of them ended in a draw.

With six Test matches lined-up for the side, here is how the Men in Blue qualify for the WTC 2021-23 Finals:

  • If they win all of them, they’ll qualify for the final with 68.06 per cent of points won.

  • If India wins five and lose one, they’ll have 62.5 per cent of points won and will remain in contention to qualify for the WTC Final.

  • If India lose two matches from these six, they will have to rely on the results of the other teams.
