On Friday, August 16, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah confirmed India’s withdrawal from hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 after ICC named India, along with Sri Lanka and UAE as back-up venues for the marquee tournament. Moreover, the BCCI Secretary also clarified on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s participation in Duleep trophy after the duo was named in the squad.
