Matthew Short-led Adelaide Strikers defeated Aaron Hardies's Perth Scorchers in the 27th match of the BBL 2023-24 by nine wickets with 23 balls remaining. The match was played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on Friday and the Strikers opener Matthew Short (76-off-51) and Chris Lynn (50-off-33) played unbeaten knocks to help their side chase the 154-run target in 16.1 overs.
Australia beat Pakistan by eight wickets in 3rd Test to clinch 3-0 series win
After winning their first two Test matches against Pakistan, Australia continued their dominant performance and defeated the visitors by eight wickets in the third and final Test match. With this win, Australia clinched the series 3-0 as skipper Pat Cummins was named the Player of the Series. Pakistan all-rounder Aamer Jamal was named the Man of the Match in the 3rd Test.

The Afghans will play a three-match series in India, starting January 11. As reported by the Indian Express, both Kohli and Rohit are keen to return to the shortest format with the T20 World Cup ahead. Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni registered a criminal case against his ex-business partners after being duped and facing losses of ₹15 crore. The case has been filed against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited in a Ranchi court over a cricket academy deal in 2017. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) imposed a ban on an Odisha cricketer Sumit Sharma for two years for age fraud. The disciplinary committee of the BCCI has reportedly taken strict action against Sharma for producing multiple fake age certificates.
