BCCI reportedly didn’t discuss Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as the head coach of the Indian cricket team with Virat Kohli. According to reports by Hindustan Times, former skipper and modern-day great Virat Kohli was not consulted by the BCCI before Gambhir’s appointment as Dravid’s successor. The report also suggested that a few names including Hardik Pandya were kept in the loop regarding the same.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, was reportedly ready to relinquish his prize money worth ₹5 crore for the T20 World Cup win, to compensate for the lower pay to the support staff. “When the 125cr prize money was distributed, Rohit Sharma raised his voice and said 'support staff shouldn't get such less money'.
