After a one-off Test and a three-game ODI series,  Afghanistan and Ireland will battle it out in the shortest format with 1st T20I slated to take place in Sharjah. The Irish clinched the Test match but the Atalan Lions retaliated with a dominant 2-0 win in the 50-over leg of the tour. This match also holds significance as it marks the return of Afghanistan's premier leg spinner Rashid Khan after a long injury layoff.

Sri Lanka's Lahiru Thirimanne  hospitalized after meeting with major road accident

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Lahiru Thirimanne has been hospitalized after being involved in a road accident in Thrippane, Anuradhapura.   The Sri Lankan star has been admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital with minor injuries sustained in the accident as per local police. The authorities, further,  mentioned that the car in which Thirimanne was travelling got into a collision with a lorry, on the morning of March 14.

Shreyas Iyer doubtful for IPL 2024 after re-aggravated back injury: Reports

Indian middle-order batter and Kolkata Knight Riders' captain  Shreyas Iyer is deemed doubtful for the Indian Premier League after re-aggravating his back injury.  In the Ranji summit clash against Vidharbha, Iyer scored a valiant 111-ball 95 and then, as reported by TOI, reinjured his back. "It's not looking good. It's the same back injury which has got aggravated. It's unlikely that he will take the field on Day 5 of the Ranji Trophy final. He is in danger of missing the initial matches of the IPL," a source told TOI.

PSL 2024 Q1: Multan Sultans clinch consecutive final after beating Peshawar Zalmi

The Mohammed Rizwan-led Multan Sultans reached the final of the PSL for the second time in a row after taking down Babar Azam's  Peshawar Zalmi in 1st Qualifier.  For the Sultans, star spinner  Usama Mir emerged as the Player of the Match for his stunning spell of 2-16 in four overs which helped restrict Zalmi to  146. Then with the bat, the Pakistani trio of  Yasir Khan,  Usman Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed scored crucial runs to help Multan register a seven-wicket win.

Ranji Trophy 2024: Mumbai beats Vidharba by 169 runs to win 42nd title

Mumbai, under Ajinkya Rahane's captaincy, sealed its 42nd Ranji Trophy by defeating Vidharba by 169 runs in the final. In the first Mumbai had a decent outing with the bat and posted 224 which was followed up by a great bowling effort.  As Vidharba was bundled out for 105, Mumbai dug deep and posted a massive 528-run target in the fourth innings. Vidharba did fight back but another stunning bowling effort clinched the win for Mumbai.
