With just 13 matches remaining in the ICC Men's World Cup 2023 to begin its knockout stages, hosts India are scheduled to take on Sri Lanka in their next match on Thursday. While many teams are still battling for a semi-final spot in the World Cup, teams like England and Bangladesh will look to clinch the Champions Trophy berth by finishing at a better ranking in the points table. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023 has also reached its quarter-finals stage with all four matches taking place on Thursday.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023: India vs Sri Lanka

The 33rd match of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place between India and Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday at 02:00 p.m. IST. The hosts have shown a dominant form throughout the tournament as they are yet to lose a game in the quadrennial showpiece. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will look to win their remaining three matches to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2024.

WBBL 2023-24: Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars

Elyse Villani-led Hobart Hurricanes are scheduled to square off against Meg Lanning's Melbourne Stars at the  Bellerive Oval, Hobart on Thursday at 01:40 p.m. IST. Hobart and Melbourne both have four points after winning two matches, however, the latter have lost three matches, which is one more than the former.

SMAT 2023: Quarter-Finals

  • Mumbai vs Baroda: The quarter-final match between Mumbai and Baroda is taking place at the  Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, and the latter have won the toss and elected to bowl first. Mumbai lost two early wickets including their skipper Ajinkya Rahane after three overs.
  • Punjab vs UP: The 1st quarter-final between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to take place at the  Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. IST.
  • Delhi vs Vidarbha: Yash Dull's Delhi will square off against Atharva Taide-led Vidarbha on Thursday at 01:30 p.m. IST at the  Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.
  • Kerala vs Assam: The 2nd quarter-final match in the SMAT 2023 will be played between Rajasthan Royals teammates' teams as Sanju Samson is the captain of Kerala while Riyan Parag leads Assam. The match will be played in Mohali on Thursday at 04:30 p.m. IST.

Quinton de Kock's fourth WC'23 ton helps SA secure 190 run win over NZ

South Africa registered another convincing win in the tournament by defeating New Zealand by 190 runs. Temba Bavuma-led South Africa locked horns with New Zealand in the 32nd clash of the ODI World Cup 2023. Batting first, the Proteas posted a mammoth total of 357 runs with the loss of four wickets in 50 overs as Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen smashed centuries. The Kiwis lost wickets in quick succession to help South Africa win the match in the 36th over.

WBBL 2023-24: Heather Knight and Hannah Darlington help Thunder beat Renegades by 37 runs

Melbourne Renegades fell to the bottom as they are tied with Sydney Sixers at 2 points after playing five matches each. Heather Knight's Sydney Thunder comfortably defeated the Renegades by 37 runs as Australia's medium pacer  Hannah Darlington was adjudged the Player of the Match for her four-for-33 spell. The Thunder registered a 191-run target as Knight scored a half-century while Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur picked up two wickets for Melbourne. While chasing the target, the Renegades failed to build a partnership and could manage only 153 runs at a loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Glenn Maxwell to miss match against England after freak accident

The five-time champions, Australia will next take on reigning champions in England on November 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.  But ahead of the clash between Australia and England, the five-time champions have been handed a massive blow. As a report published by Cricket.com.au on Wednesday, November 1, Glenn Maxwell fell down from the back of a golf cart, resulting in a concussion, and will miss the match against England.
