With seven wins in seven matches, Team India became the first team to qualify for the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final stage. In the domestic circuit, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023 will commence its semi-final fixtures on Saturday as Delhi will face Punjab while Baroda are scheduled to take on Assam in another matchup.

Delhi and Punjab will go head-to-head in the SMAT 2023 semifinal on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. IST in Mohali.
- Baroda vs Assam: Krunal Pandya's Baroda defeated the Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai by three wickets while Riyan Parag-led Assam defeated Sanju Samson's Kerala by six wickets to qualify for the semi-final. Baroda are scheduled to face Assam in the SMAT 2023 semi-final at 04:30 p.m. in Mohali on Saturday.

The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan registered their fourth win in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 after beating the Netherlands by seven wickets. The 2023 campaign continues to emerge as Afghanistan's most successful World Cup as they are two wins away from reaching their maiden semi-final. The Dutch won the toss and started poorly with the bat and were bundled out at a score of 179 in 46.2 overs.
