With New Zealand winning their final group stage clash against Sri Lanka on Thursday in the CWC 2023, the 2019 World Cup runners-up have practically confirmed their semi-final qualification and will face hosts India in a rematch of the CWC 2019 semi-final. Apart from that, England, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands will look to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with their last match remaining in the CWC 2023.

In the 42nd match of the ODI World Cup 2023, Afghanistan are scheduled to face South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday at 02:00 p.m. IST. After New Zealand's dominating victory over Sri Lanka on Thursday,  Afghanistan should beat South Africa by a margin of 438 runs to qualify for the semi-final, however, it seems to be practically impossible unless they manage to post a total of 500-plus runs on board.

  • Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers: Sophie Devine-led Perth Scorchers defeated Jess Jonassen's Brisbane Heat by 39 runs at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane in the WBBL 2023 on Thursday. With this win, the Scorchers overtook the Heat at the third spot while Brisbane dropped to the fourth spot. Although both teams have equal points in the standings, the Scorchers have a better net run rate.

Noah Croes replaces Ryan Klein in Netherlands squad ahead of India clash in CWC 2023

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has approved Noah Croes as a replacement for Ryan Klein in the Netherlands squad.  Croes, who has played one ODI, was named as a replacement after Klein was ruled out due to a lower back injury.  The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the player can be officially added to the squad.
