It was a historic day for cricket on Monday as the International Olympic Committee officially announced the inclusion of cricket and four other sports in the Paris Olympics 2024. Apart from that, Australia finally registered their first win at the ongoing ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023.

While South Africa will look to continue their winning run at the ODI World Cup 2023, the Netherlands could pull off a major upset by winning their first game in the tournament. The 15th match in the World Cup between the Netherlands and South Africa will be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday at 02:00 p.m. IST.

The Indian domestic T20 championship commenced on Monday with a total of 30 teams in action. The domestic league will continue with 15 matches taking place in four different time slots at 09:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 01:30 p.m., and 04:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A total of four matches were abandoned due to rain on Monday including defending champion Tamil Nadu's clash against Karnataka.

Australia beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets to register their first win in CWC 2023

After losing two back-to-back games, Australia registered their first win in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 over Sri Lanka. Finishing off the game, it was Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis, who helped the five-time champion win the game by five wickets. The duo of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera scored 61 and 78 respectively to help the Lankans post a 125-run stand. However, no other Sri Lankan batter could make a mark as they were bundled out on 209 runs. Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis' half-centuries and Marnus Labusschagne's 40-off-60 helped Australia chase the target with 88 balls remaining.

Cricket among five sports to be part of 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Monday, October 16 confirmed the inclusion of cricket for the 2028 Olympics. The official authority behind the quadrennial showpiece, the IOC took to X to confirm the sports that have found their way into the 2028 edition, set to take place in Los Angeles.

Litton Das apologises after ‘unacceptable’ behaviour with Bangladesh journalists

Bangladesh began their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup on a winning note but since their first win, the Shakib Al Hasan-led side have failed to surpass England and New Zealand's challenge as they lost by 137 runs and eight wickets respectively. Opening batter Litton Das was under the scanners after he slammed one of the media personnel for clicking his pictures at the hotel.  However, on realising his mistake, the 29-year-old dropped an apology, showing his respect towards the journalists.

Indian lawyer files complaint over Md Rizwan's Gaza comments during PAK vs NED
