South Africa have been another team which has been putting up record breaking scores at the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and they yet again posted 382 in their match against Bangladesh at the Wankhede Stadium. Registering a dominant win by 149 runs, the side has now moved to the second place in the points table. On the other hand, Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat registered win over Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers respectively in the Women’s Big Bash League 2023.

The tenth match of the Women’s Big Bash League 2023 will see Perth Scorchers go up against Hobart Hurricanes at the W.A.C. A Ground in Perth. South Africa beat Bangladesh by 149 runs to take second place in ODI World Cup standings
South Africa made big gains in the points table at the ODI World Cup 2023 to surpass New Zealand to be placed second post a crushing 149-run win over Bangladesh. In this win, which Quinton de Kock top-scored for the side with a 174-run knock while Mahmudullah’s centurion knock went in vain as Bangladesh were bundled out for 233 in chase of 383.
Angelo Mathews replaces injured Matheesha Pathirana in Sri Lanka WC squad
All-rounder Angelo Mathews replaced pacer Matheesha Pathirana in Sri Lanka’s World Cup squad for the remainder of tournament. Notably, Pathirana sustained a shoulder injury in match against Pakistan in Hyderabad on October 10, ruling him out in the subsequent matches and the tournament thereafter.
WBBL 2023: Adelaide Strikers beat Melbourne Stars by 4 wickets
The Tahila McGrath-led Adelaide Strikers yet again registered a dominant win over the Melbourne Stars to go to second place in points table. After being invited to field first, the Strikers restricted the Stars to 133 in the 20 overs with Megan Scutt finishing scalping two wickets and the skipper going wicketless. However, in the second innings, some brilliant knock from the opener Katie Mack, helped the side chase the total in 19.4 overs, winning by four wickets.
WBBL 2023: Brisbane Heat win by 3 wickets to go to the top of the standings
In the second match of the day in WBBL 2023, Brisbane Heat continued their winning run to comfortably take the top spot in the points table. The Jess Jonassen-led side invited the Sixers to bat first, restricting them to below 150, with skipper Ellyse Perry top scoring with a 30-ball 49. However, the Heat Women took the game in their control with an over left.
18 England players sign multi-year contract with ECB
18 of the England players signed a multi-year central contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for the first time on October 24. Out of the 18, seven players received it for the first time. While Harry Brook, Joe Root and Mark Wood singed a three-year contract, Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes Reece Topley signed one-year contract.
