The league stage of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is done and dusted with the two-time champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, finishing at the top of the IPL 2023 points table followed by the SunRisers Hyderabad while the Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru completed the playoff spots.

On Sunday, May 19, the SunRisers Hyderabad defeated the Punjab Kings by four wickets in the 69th match of the IPL 2024 at the Uppal Stadium. Batting first, PBKS' Prabhsimran Singh (71 off 45) and Atharva Taide (46 off 27)  stitched together an opening stand of 97 runs while Rilee Roussouw's 24-ball 49 and skipper Jitesh Sharma's 32 off 15 helped the Kings put 214 runs on the board. After SRH opener Travis Head's wicket on the first ball, Abhishek Sharma wreaked havoc as he smashed 5 fours and 6 sixes to score 66 runs in 28 balls while Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Kumar Reddy also played decent knocks. Heinrich Klaasen 42-off-26 helped SRH win by four wickets and five balls remaining.

Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders: Match abandoned due to rain

The final match of the IPL 2024 league stage between the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders was abandoned due to rain. After a delay of several minutes, the game was reduced to seven-over-a-side. Following the toss that was won by KKR, who elected to field first, the rain again interrupted and the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
