Just a week after the statue of Neeraj Chopra, the reigning World and Olympic champion, was unveiled at the Hapur Adda crossing in Meerut, the javelin installed in hand was reportedly stolen on September 3, Sunday night. It was revealed that a prominent social activist Lokesh Khurana was one of the first individuals to spot the theft on September 4, Monday morning, demanding an inquiry on the matter, which led to Meerut Police starting their investigation.
