Nihal Sarin won the Romanian Grand Prix 2024 when he beat Imre Balog of Hungary in the tie-breaker. The Grand Prix chess event was comprised of two classical and three rapid events. Brazil and FC Barcelona legend Ronaldinho lambasted Brazil's squad participating in Copa America ahead of the tournament. The football great said there are only average players in the squad and no real leaders. The former Ballon d’Or winner made it to the headlines with bold remarks about the national team ahead of the major tournament. Ronaldinho, a 1999 Copa America winner and 2002 World Cup winner took to his social media to say that the team ‘lacks love for the shirt’.

Brazil legend Ronaldinho clarified his criticism of the Brazil national team for the forthcoming Copa America 2024. The former footballer once again took to Instagram to clarify his statement and reveal the real reason behind the same. Ronaldinho gave a full explanation of his harsh words and said that his statement was the comments from fans that he used in a marketing campaign to encourage more support for the team. On his Instagram, Ronaldinho wrote,  “I would never abandon Brazilian football, ever. And I'd never say those things you see. Actually, these words came from real Brazilian fans, they are real comments that I saw on the internet.”

The Swiss kick-started their European Championship campaign by defeating Hungarians 3-1 in a clinical performance at the Cologne Stadium. With this victory, Granit Xhaka's men are second in Group A behind hosts Germany after their 5-1 bashing of Scotland. From the opening whistle, Switzerland seemed like the better team with an experienced group of players and drew first blood thanks to a clinical opening goal by Kwadwo Duah from Michel  Aebischer's assist at the 12-minute mark.

Switzerland opened their UEFA Euro Championship 2024 campaign with a brilliant win over Hungary on Saturday, June 15. The Group A clash at the RheinEnergieStadion saw the Swiss defeat their Hungarian counterparts by 3-1. Before that, the tournament opener saw hosts Germany thrashing Scotland 5-1 in an exciting game on Friday, June 14. In the game, Kwadwo Duah gave Switzerland an early lead with his first international goal in the 12th minute to give the side an early lead. Playing his second game for Switzerland, Duah shot low past goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi off a pass from Aebischer.

Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf’s son Jaden spoke about his father in a recent interview and revealed that the American always points out that he isn’t the best player under his roof. He said, "It’s funny, my dad always says he’s not even the best tennis player in his own house.” Thanking his parents, Jaden said, "They’ve been through it, obviously in a different sport, but they’ve seen it all and done it all. They’ve been a huge help, absolutely.” 

Andy Murray to lead Britain’s tennis squad at Paris Olympics 2024

Former Wimbledon, US Open, and Olympic champion Andy Murray is set to represent Britain in the Paris Olympics 2024. The 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medalist is the only player to win back-to-back Olympic titles in singles. Murray will be joined by debutants Jack Draper, Cameron Norrie and Dan Evans in his last possible tournament. The lineup doesn’t include former US Open champion Emma Raducanu. As per the BBC, Raducanu was ranked too low to qualify automatically and had turned down the wild card offer.

After losing three games in a row, the Dallas Mavericks registered their first win in the 2024 NBA Finals against the  Boston Celtics at the American Airlines Center on Friday night. Ahead of Game 4, Mavericks coach Jason Kidd fueled motivation in Luka Doncic and his teammates by showing his confidence and belief in the team. Apart from his motivational speech, Kidd praised the 25-year-old Slovenian in a post-match interview. Doncic was criticized after his Game 3 antics where he was fouled out and Dallas trailed to a 3-0 lead. However, after his sensational performance in Game 5, Kidd said, "He was Luka (Doncic). He is one of the best players in the world. He’s a hell of a player."
