The West Midlands Police released a statement about the incident, excerpts of which read, “We've made more than 30 arrests as officers were injured during serious disorder involving away fans outside Villa Park this evening. We were faced with disgusting and highly dangerous scenes as trouble flared ahead of the fixture between Aston Villa and Legia Warsaw.”

Memphis Tigers guard Mikey Williams has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in gun case. Wiliams pleaded guilty "to a single count of making criminal threats" in connection to a shooting outside his San Diego home in March. According to his attorney Randy Grossman, several gun shots were fired at a vehicle outside his home. Williams was arrested in April and has been away from the team ever since the legal proceedings have been in process.
