With two wins from six games, Punjab are currently placed at sixth in the points table whereas RCB are at the second position after having won five games out of six. After having faced defeats against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab managed to win against the defending champions Mumbai Indians.

In their last game against KKR, Punjab's batting unit failed miserably. The in-form trio - KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle were expected to score big but that didn't happen. Although Rahul has scored three fifties so far, he didn't have a good strike rate as he batted at 129.03. Both Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle need to be consistent to beat a mighty side like Royal Challengers Bangalore in familiar conditions in Ahmedabad.

On the other hand, RCB have been in good form and have maintained their performance in the league so far. Even after the defeat to Chennai Super Kings (CSK), they bounced back well and registered a nail-biting one-run win against Delhi Capitals. Be it openers - Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal or their middle-order batsmen - AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell, all have been performing well.

In the last game, de Villiers smashed a match-winning 75 against Delhi. After having faced a series of poor shows in IPL, Glenn Maxwell finally found his rhythm and has been doing wonders for RCB. Along with them, their bowling unit, especially pacer Mohammed Siraj has been in a formidable form. And, their death bowler specialist Harshal Patel can turn the tables single-handedly.

Considering the present form, it can be said that Punjab needs fireworks to seal the deal against RCB.
