The former RCB owner, Vijay Mallya, took to his official X account to wish “best of luck” to the Bengaluru-based franchise ahead of their IPL 2024 Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 68-year-old also recalled his old days with the RCB, talking about how he couldn’t have made better choices in bidding for them and Virat Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be playing the IPL 2024 Eliminator after making a miraculous recovery in the latter stages of the tournament, winning six matches in a row to make the playoffs. Their opponents, Rajasthan Royals, have literally fallen off a cliff in the month of May, not winning any of their last five matches despite making the playoffs stage of the IPL.

Vijay Mallya, who is still a fan of Royal Challengers Bengaluru despite selling his ownership of the franchise, posted for them on X before their IPL 2024 Eliminator appearance. He wrote, “When I bid for the RCB franchise and I bid for Virat, my inner instinct told me that I could not have made better choices. My inner instinct tells me that RCB have the best chance to go for the IPL Trophy. Onward and Upward. Best of luck.”

The businessman had also congratulated Royal Challengers Bengaluru in another post on reaching the IPL 2024 playoffs earlier. It was at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where RCB registered their recent win over CSK in the league stage of the IPL 2024, to finish in fourth place on the points table.

The captain Faf du Plessis was adjudicated as the player of the match after scoring a match-defining fifty apart from taking a screamer and captaining RCB in an exceptional manner in the field. He dedicated the award to Yash Dayal, who had bowled a crucial last over, defending 17 runs successfully against the likes of MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur, to secure the team a playoff spot in the IPL 2024.
