Pakistan men's cricket team suffered shocking defeat from Sri Lanka in recently concluded T20 Asia Cup 2022 in United Arab of Emirates. Babar Azam-led side were considered to lift the title ahead of the Asia Cup final, but poor performance from the batters costed heavily to Men in Green. Notably, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and Md Rizwan were heavily criticized for their below par performance in highly anticipated final clash of the competition and were blamed for the side's poor performance.

In a fresh development, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ramiz Raja has opened up on Pakistan team's performance and criticism surrounding the team. Speaking to Samaa TV, former Pakistan cricketer and Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board admitted that his team could not perform up to the reputation, but also lashed out at critics for being too harsh on his boys.

Explaining his version, Ramiz Raja drew the comparison with Virat Kohli and said that when Indian cricketer smashed his 71st international century, 'everyone forgot Team India's entire Asia Cup campaign where they failed to qualify for the semi-final despite being favorites.'

"Previously we used to falter at the very first hurdle. We reached the final and failed in the most important match. But it’s okay to have a bad day. Look at India, they should have been criticized for their performance but that is not what their media do. They celebrated Virat's ton and completely forgot India' campaign. Will we ever do that? What we say is that Babar Azam scored a ton, but his strike rate was 135 while David Warner's was 147.3. So, this is useless,” he said.
