The Indian cricket team finished its last assignment of the year against Bangladesh with a win. India played a two-match Test series against the Tigers which they won 2-0. Before the Test series, India also played a three-match ODI series which they lost 1-2. The Men in Blue played international cricket throughout the year. India played a total of 71 matches in 2022, winning 46 of them. India’s best run was in T20Is wherein they won 28 out of 40 matches played this year.
Suryakumar Yadav starred with the bat for the Men in Blue as he amassed over 1000 runs in 2022. Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer in ODIs for India while Rishabh Pant topped the run charts in Tests. Pant also scored the most number of centuries (3) this year. Meanwhile, India’s top guns like Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul struggled to get going. While Sharma was the fifth-highest run-getter in 2022, Rahul was nowhere on the list.
