The BCCI has earmarked certain venues for the showpiece tournament, to be held in India in October-November this year. Ahmedabad is likely to host the final of the 2021 T20 World Cup while Mumbai and Kolkata will host the semi-finals. Dharamsala has also been selected to host a knockout match. The decision was taken on Friday in the virtual meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Apex Council.

Delhi to host two Pakistan ties

It has been learned that Delhi is likely to host two of Pakistan's matches in the 2021 T20 World Cup. An official confirmation for the venues will come later as the country reels under the second Covid-19 wave, which has seen daily number of cases cross 2 lakh over the past few days.

Pakistan players to be granted visas for T20 WC in India

The Indian government is set to grant visas to the players from Pakistan when they travel to India for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in October. According to reports, BCCI secretary Jay Shah informed the Apex Council about the government’s decision on giving visas to the Pakistan players. As a result, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team will have no difficulty in travelling to India for the World T20.

45 matches slated to be held in the tournament

There are 45 matches slated to be held in the tournament that will see  the participation of 16 countries, which will include the top ten ranked nations of the world. Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Oman, the Netherlands, Namibia and Scotland will join the top teams at the World Cup.
