Diana Puketapu-Lyndon brings a wealth of commercial and sporting administrative experience to the position with two stints as Chief financial officer in America's sailing campaigns and one as Director of the World Masters Games. Snedden, being the former CEO of NZC, served three terms as a director of the board and said stepping down was the right thing to do as he felt it was critical to accommodate a new chairperson despite him having one more year term till the 2024 AGM.

Snedden also said that the financial performance of Diana Lyndon has made him confident that the organization will move in the right direction under her leadership skills as chairperson. The Financial results have helped NZC to further increase contributions to the central associations and community cricket, for the betterment of games at all levels.
