Cricket as a sport has been graced by a  lot of stalwarts since its inception starting from Sir Don Bradman to Virat Kohli. But the question is which player owns the mantle of being called the God of cricket among all superstars. The term God of cricket has been used to refer to legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar for his exceptional achievements in both stats and longevity.

Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut at the age of 16 against Pakistan in Test cricket in Karachi in November 1989, and he played for a period of 24 years till November 2013. He inspired an entire generation to take up this sport as a career as many star players like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma considers Sachin Tendulkar to be their idol.

Sachin Tendulkar rose to fame as one of the greatest batsmen during 1996-1998 period after putting consistent performance with the bat. He kept breaking many records in international career which was never even imagined by experts at that time. Sachin Tendulkar's shot selection and batting technique was praised by everyone including the greatest cricketer Sir Don Bradman at that time. Thus, he was started being labelled as God of Cricket by the fans and experts.

Sachin Tendulkar in his 24-year long career, has some terrific records which seems to be unbreakable even today. He has scored most runs in international cricket and also remains to be only player to have played 200 games in Test cricket as of now. He even modified his game style to T20 mode in later stage of his cricketing career by winning Orange Cap (for scoring most runs) in IPL 2010.
