Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw made headlines on Thursday but for all the wrong reasons. The Mumbai batter allegedly got into a brawl with two people who repeatedly insisted him for selfie. The two were identified as social media influencer Sapna Gill and her friend Shobit Thakur.

Social media is flooded with videos of both the parties getting into physical altercation outside a Mumbai hotel, where the alleged accused reportedly thrashed BMW of Prithvi Shaw’s friend. According to reports, the incident was reported to the police by Prithvi Shaw’s friend Ashish Surendra Yadav after it occurred outside a five-star hotel in Mumbai. Oshiwara Police eventually arrested eight people, including Sapna Gill.
Meanwhile, Gill’s advocate has claimed that his client was merely trying to take a selfie as a fan, however, the cricketer was allegedly intoxicated and misbehaved with her. He further added that Gill was hit with a wooden bat by Shaw in a ‘misuse of power and position’. Notably, the police has informed that at the time of the incident, both Gill and Thakur were drunk.
