The IPL 2023 opener between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings saw the first-ever Impact Player in the tournament’s history. MS Dhoni on Friday (March 31) once against achieved a feat as he became the first captain to play an Impact player.
Chennai Super Kings pacer Tushar Deshpande too etched his name as he became the first-ever Impact Player. The 27-year-old replaced Ambati Rayudu, who is a batter in full capacity. With this new Impact Player rule, Tushar will be allowed to bowl full quota of four overs despite being named in the XI.
After this, Gujarat Titans too introduced their Impact Player as Sai Sudarshan walked into bat in place of injured Kane Williamson.
