Argentina commenced their World Cup campaign in an unfortunate way as they faced a 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia, however, La Albiceleste bounced back in the tournament and win all their remaining matches to reach the final for the second time after 2014, where they lost against Germany. Argentina will now face defending champions France in the final at the Lusail Stadium on Sunday, December 18.

Defending champions France have also lost only one game in the FIFA World Cup 2022 against Tunisia in their final group stage fixture.

Lionel Messi is having a spectacular season as the Argentina captain is leading the race for the Golden Ball and Golden Boot. Messi has scored five goals and produced three assists so far in the tournament and is levelled with Kylian Mbappe with five goals. Apart from Messi, Argentina have discovered another skillful talent in the 21-year-old midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who plays for Portuguese club Benfica Lisbon.

With the likes of Emiliano Martinez, Lisandro Martinez, Nahuel Molina, Nicolas Otamendi and Marcos Acuna at the back, Argentina produce a strong defensive arrangement to dismantle a prolific attacking side like France. Also, the Argentine midfield is racked up with talented players like Enzo Fernandez, Alexis Mac Allister, Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria (depends on his fitness).

Talking about Argentina's strength, Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez have shown their amazing form in Qatar as they have scored five and four goals respectively. Argentina played star forward Paulo Dybala in their semifinal fixture against Croatia, which is another positive aspect for their attacking strategy.

However, defending champions France are capable of winning a game at any given point of time considering their star power of Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud,  Aurélien Tchouaméni among other in-form players.
