The Joburg Super Kings have been dealt with a massive blow after England cricketer Harry Brook withdrew from the upcoming inaugural edition of SA20 League. The T20 league which is set to commence on January 10, 2023 will be played in South Africa for a period of one-month.

Ahead of the start of the inaugural edition, the England Cricket Board (ECB) has withdrawn the name of English cricketer Harry Brook. This decision of the board comes in order to manage the workload of the young batter.

“Since he plays all three formats, the ECB thinks it is risky to permit him to play the SA20. We have received the communication from the ECB last night,” said Kasi Viswanathan (CEO of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings).

 

The 23-year-old was bought for R 2.10 million  by the Joburg Super Kings earlier this year. Talking more about the young batter, Brook was bought by IPL franchise SunRisers Hyderabad in the recent Auction in Kochi. The England batter was bought for INR 13.25 Crore.
