In match number 52 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on former champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 3. However, both teams are coming off a contrasting season in IPL 2025, the Bengaluru-based franchise will hope to win their remaining matches in order to seal a spot in the playoffs.
As the two skippers walked out for the toss at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, it was the visiting skipper, MS Dhoni, who won the toss and decided to field first. However, the Yellow Army will play for their pride, MS Dhoni also confirmed that the side will continue to put forth the best combinations, looking at the next season.
Josh Hazlewood misses out from RCB’s XI vs CSK; Lungi Ngidi comes in
On the other hand, Rajat Patidar, the RCB skipper was also enquired what would he decide if he would have won the toss. While Patidar also reaffirmed with Dhoni’s decision, the Bengaluru captain also called for a change in his XI, confirming that Josh Hazlewood, who has been their top wicket-taker in IPL 2025 miss out the crucial match.
However, the reason behind dropping Hazlewood is not known, the side have given a change to Lungi Ngidi, who will feature in his first game this season. “Every game is important from now, we are not looking at qualification and we will try our best in all four games. One change - Ngidi comes in for Josh,” Patidar said.
