Messi has played eight full games in the last month for Inter Miami and it is also reported that he might have an injury concern.
Amid all these speculations surrounding Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, head coach of Serie A side Como, has sparked excitement among fans by refusing to rule out the possibility of his close friend and former teammate Messi joining the club. Speaking at a press conference ahead of Como’s pre-season friendly against Lille, Fabregas addressed rumors linking the Inter Miami star to a sensational move to Italy, saying, “Never say never,” when asked about Messi’s potential arrival. While speaking he revealed their deep personal connection forged during their time together at Barcelona’s La Masia academy and first team from 2011 to 2014. The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder, who led Como to promotion from Serie B last season, described Messi’s presence in Como as a personal visit but left the door open for a future move, thrilling supporters of the newly promoted club.
Fabregas’ speculative comments might have increased the expectation of Como’s fan
While no concrete negotiations have been reported, Fabregas’ comments might have ignited hope among Como fans, who see the club’s rapid rise from Serie D to Serie A as a platform for bold moves. However, Lionel Messi’s current contract with Inter Miami, coupled with his reported desire to finish his career in the MLS, makes the transfer a long shot. Fàbregas, who recently turned down an approach from Inter Milan to stay with Como, emphasized his commitment to the club’s ambitious project, which could be further elevated if his comments become a reality in Messi arriving to play for Como.
