Star footballer and one of the greats of the game, Lionel Messi, who plays in the Major League Soccer (MLS) for Inter Miami, is all set to miss from their next match, scheduled to be played on Monday (IST), August 11. The MLS side, who are placed fifth in the Eastern Conference are set to play Orlando at the Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
As they travel for their next clash, the Miami side will miss the services of their captain and star player Lionel Messi. The update was shared by coach Javier Mascherano on Saturday, August 9 with the veteran player recovering from a muscle injury. In the video going viral, Messi was spotted training individually while his teammates trained together.

Prior to the clash, Inter Miami coach confirmed Messi’s absence, stating, "No, Leo will not be available tomorrow. He is fine, but obviously it would be crazy to risk taking him to Orlando because of all that is ahead.” The former Argentine and Barcelona defender added, “We are optimistic that he will soon return with us."
Notably, Messi sustained a muscle injury during the Florida-based side’s Leagues Cup against Necaxa. In the final group stage encounter of Leagues Cup, Miami posted 3-1 win over Pumas UNAM with goals from Rodrigo de Paul, Luis Suarez and Tadeo Allende. Inter are eight points behind leaders Philadelphia, and are just one-point ahead of Orlando with three more matches remaining.
