Winners of Women’s T20 World Cup over the years

The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup is finally ended at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 20. New Zealand Women defeated South Africa Women in the final to lift their maiden World Cup title, while South Africa finished as the runners up for the second consecutive time. The Women’s T20 World Cup was inaugurated in 2009 in England. Since then, only three nations have lifted the trophy with Australia Women being the most successful of the tournament with six titles. England Women - 2009 England Women turned out to be the champions of the inaugural season of the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2009. They defeated New Zealand Women by six wickets in the final at Lords cricket ground on June 21, 2009. Claire Taylor was adjudged player of the tournament with 199 runs in four innings. #PAGE_BREAK# Australia Women - 2010 The second edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup took place in the West Indies and was won by Australia Women in 2010. They defeated New Zealand Women by just three runs in the final in Bridgetown on May 16, 2010. The Aussies Women defeated England Women by four runs in the final in Colombo on October 7, 2012. They defeated India Women by 85 runs in the final at Melbourne cricket ground on March 8, 2020. Amelia Kerr was adjudged player of the tournament for her all-round performance with 135 runs with the bat and 15 wickets with the ball.
