After an entertaining World Cup, we have two teams who'll take on each other for one last time. It's unbeaten Australia Women, on one side, who'll be up against England Women on Sunday. The match will be played at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Both teams have had a different route in this final battle as the Aussies have remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.
Whereas the English started their campaign quite poorly but gradually climbed back up and are one step away from the title. They dominated the South Africa Women with Danielle Wyatt’s century and Sophie Ecclestone’s six wickets, while Australia ran through the West Indians with a 157-run victory.
The English team has fought back to defend their title in the 2022 World Cup, They suffered very close defeats in their first three games. In these losses, their bowling looked decent and was their only positive. But as the tournament has progressed, the Three Lions have looked like a solid unit with all players in form. Natalie Sciver and Tamsin Beaumont emerged as the backbone of their batting as both of them have combined to score 538 runs. Then in the semi-final, Danielle Wyatt, also got back to form with a century. In the bowling department, Sophie Ecclestone has been the top performer with 20 wickets from eight matches. Other than these players, Amy Ellen Jones, Sophia Dunkley, and Katherine Brunt can be great fantasy picks.
The Australia Women team has been the best team in the tournament so far. They have dominated every team and have won every game convincingly. The Aussies are led by the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament in Meg Lanning who has scored 384 runs with an average of 64. They also have the second-highest run-scorer in Rachael Haynes who has added 429 runs with an average of 61.29. Players like Beth Mooney, Jess Jonassen, and Ashleigh Gardner have also been incredible and would be great picks for any fantasy team.
