India’s ‘Golden Boy’ has been receiving praises from all corners of the world. Since his Olympic gold medal win in javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics, the Indian athlete hasn’t looked back. 2022 was a path breaking year for the Indian track and field athlete as he etched history by becoming the first Indian to win the Diamond league title.

The feats did not rest here for the 24-year-old. However, recently the Indian athlete earned praise from legendary American sprinter Michael Johnson. The four-time Olympic gold medallist said that Chopra is “javelin thrower with the movement of a sprinter/jumper.”

Sharing the video of Chopra’s recent training, Johnson wrote, “He’s a javelin thrower! Olympic champion javelin thrower, but a javelin thrower. With sprinter/jumper movement!”

Without much delay, the Olympic gold medallist said, “Now that I have your approval, checking the sprint calendar for the season @MJGold”.

The 25-year-old had an unforgettable 2022 as he won the silver at the World Championships in Oregon. With this feat, he became only the second Indian to win a global medal after Anju Bobby George’s bronze in 2003. He also became the first Indian to win a Diamond League title.
