The legendary stars will galore under one roof as the first edition of the World Championship of Legends is all set to kickstart on July 3, 2024. Edgbaston Cricket Ground and Northamptonshire County Ground will host the tournament. The event will also see the marquee clash between India and Pakistan on July 6 featuring star players from both nations.
The iconic rivalry between the two Asian countries has a rich history with them taking on each other on 12 occasions in the ODI World Cup and seven times in T20 World Cup. However, India has dominated the rivalry in a lop-sided way and Pakistan has managed to win just one game across the two tournaments. It has also seen stars emerging through the ranks such as Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Shahid Afridi, and Virat Kohli.
This time, two of the greatest players from their respective nations Yuvraj and Shahid Afridi will be up against each other as they aim to solidify their stature in the biggest rivalry. The iconic clash follows the enchanting 8th T20 World Cup clash between the sides in New York. Along with Yuvraj, India will also see the former stars Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and Ambati Rayudu.
Apart from the India-Pak rivalry, the series also features captivating fixtures such as India up against Australia on July 8, England vs India on July 3, Australia vs South Africa on July 5, and England vs Australia on July 6.
