India, who   secured a third spot in the ICC World Test Championship after a 188-run win over Bangladesh in the first Test, have now moved to second after Australia's win over South Africa at The Gabba. Team India leapfrogged South Africa with a 55.77 points percentage in the World Test Championship standings.

Australia, South Africa and India are currently in race for the first two spots, while defending champions New Zealand are tottering at 8th position with just two wins in nine games. India has to play five more Tests - one against Bangladesh (December 22-26), and four vs Australia at home from February. They need to win all of them to reach WTC 2023 final.
