The wrestlers who are currently protesting at Jantar Mantar in the capital city against the Wrestling Federation of India Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for allegedly sexually harassing women wrestlers, including a minor, have challenged him to undergo a lie detector test. The Olympic bronze medallist, Sakshi Malik, has demanded a Narco Test on the WFI Chief and BJP MP under Supreme Court supervision after he claimed innocence to allegation of sexual harassment.
Addressing a press conference at the Jantar Mantar, Sakshi Malik said that the WFI Chief should underg o a narco test under Supreme Court. The 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist said, "Those people speaking in favour of the WFI Chief and saying that we are lying, I would say that Brij Bhushan should undergo a Narco Test under Supreme Court... and also the seven women wrestlers (who have alleged sexual harassment)." "Whosoever is found guilty, hang them,” she further added.
Seeking support from the women force in the country, Sakshi said, "I would request the womenfolk in the country to support us just like they did in the Nirbhaya case. Express solidarity with us because we are also fighting for the cause of women. If we win this fight, we would have sent a strong message, but if we lose we would go back 50 years."
Singh, a day after Delhi Police registered two FIRs against him on April 28, had claimed innocence and said that he was ready to face any kind of investigation. The protesting wrestlers have also decided to wear black armbands on Thursday as a mark of protest against the authorities.
