Conor Coady, the English international footballer, 32, played a big role on the field at Leicester City as a centre-back after joining the club in 2023 on a three-year contract for a reported transfer fee of £7.5 million. Coady was a crucial part of the squad which earned the promotion back to the Premier league in the 2023-24 season. In the previous campaign of the Premier League, he made 22 appearances with the Foxes, but they played poorly.
Following the relegation of Leicester back into the Championship, the 32-year-old has already featured in three pre-season games for Leicester City. However, the English defender has had a change in his plans and has decided to sign for their new rivals Wrexham AFC. They have taken to their social media to confirm the signing of the 32-year-old from Leicester City. Coady joins the club on a two-year contract with the option of extending it for another year for a reported transfer fee of around £2 million.
I'm over the moon. It's a special day, I'll be honest: Conor Coady
The Red Dragons, owned by the Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds, are in pursuit of qualifying to the Premier League in the next campaign and the English defender is expected to play a huge part to fulfill their ambitions. Upon his arrival at the club, Coady said, "I'm over the moon. It's a special day, I'll be honest. We've all seen what the club has done over the past few years and for me to join is really special and I can't wait to meet the boys and get started."
Conor Coady is an experienced Premier League footballer, who made over 198 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers apart from serving them as captain in the early part of his career. The defender was also a part of the England squad in the Euro 2020 and the World Cup 2022.
